‘Nauts Episode 2 — “Ox-Bow International” is up at Liberty Island!

'Nauts_Ep_2_Oxbow_LIThere’s good news for Sci-Fi fans tonight, September 22, 2015, because Liberty Island Magazine has (finally!) posted Episode 2 of my Sci-Fi saga, ‘Nauts.

If you missed our pilot episode, Persephone, don’t sit there all antsy, get yourself caught up, then dive into Ox-Bow International, a story of political corruption, international intrigue, culture clash, and stone-cold revenge.

Let the folks at Liberty Island know how you like this series, because Episode 3 is on about to come hot off the computer.

The Patron Saint of Faithful Warriors

IMG_0273I had the pleasure this evening of meeting a fine American leader whom I greatly admire, Lt. Col. Allen West (ret.) who made a visit to New York City. I picked up the Colonel’s new book, Guardian of the Republic and he signed it for me:

God be with you

now & always.

Steadfast and loyal,

Allen B. West

I read a couple of chapters on the train home, and it’s chock full of inspiration. A smooth read, I’d recommend it especially for boys aged 13 to 16 who are hungry for positive examples as they grow into manhood.

I presented Col. West with a copy of The Lance and the Veil. As  a good Methodist with a few years of Catholic education, he recognized right away that it was the story of Longinus and Veronica. “Longinus, the Centurion, became the Patron Saint of Faithful Warriors,” I said. “And I wanted you to have this, because you are a faithful warrior.” He seemed touched by that remark and graciously accepted the gift. Let’s hope I bump into him again after he’s had a chance to read it!

Hello, Hollywood! Are You Ready for The Lance and the Veil?

Author Kevin Rush goes “Back to the Future.”  Tell Doc Brown to bring the DeLorean around.

On August 28th, I flew out to Los Angeles to renew old acquaintances and talk to a few folks in and out of the entertainment industry about The Lance and the Veil. First, though, on orders from one of my beloved sisters, I had to chase down Zachary Levi to get autographs for my niece and nephew. They were big fans of Chuck on NBC and had seen Zack on Broadway a couple of years back, when he had been gracious enough to pose for pictures after the show with the whole family. He was equally gracious when I ran into him and said my sister had given me a mission.

Later, I heard from several folks who loved Lance and Veil, including a Christian producer who envisions it as a TV miniseries.

One of the highlights of my trip was a tour of the backlot of Universal Studios. My guide, Willie Gillespie, drove much of the route that the tour follows, but we were able to stop and take a few pictures, something visitors who take the tram are not able to do.

We swung past Amity and this big boy put Willie in the mood for sushi,

Norman

Struck a creepy Norman Bates pose and waited for my Janet Leigh, who, fortunately for her, never arrived.

Stopped by to check on Mother, who was seated at the window, but was clearly off her rocker.
