A Trilogy of Contemporary Romantic Comedies by Kevin Rush

Who doesn’t love…Weddings…Irony…Screwball comedy?

If you’re a fan of classic film comedies and wish contemporary movies or TV had that same smart style with distinctive characters and witty dialogue, without the caustic attitude or risqué antics, this is the series for you. Two books in the series are already available.

The Wedding Routine came out in 2021, and has gotten highly complimentary reader reviews. My goal was to draw on my experience studying Ballroom dance to write a Christmas story in the tradition of Going My Way: something funny, uplifting and gently spiritual that would have timeless appeal. You be the judge if I’ve succeeded.

You can purchase a print copy of The Wedding Routine here.

The Wedding Routine 2: Destination Lyon became available October 31. This is a continuation of the romance introduced in the first book. Dance is still a central theme, and there are plenty of laughs throughout, but the story also unfolds like a travelogue and an inward journey to the hearts of the principal characters. On one level, it’s a love letter to the City of Lyon (which I visited in 2019), exploring its rich history and culture. But the story also prompts our characters to ruminate on their own lives in the context of this overseas adventure. Of course, there’s romantic jeopardy for our central couple and, I hope, a satisfying resolution.

The Wedding Routine 3???? Soon to come is our third installment, and I won’t say much about that. Except that we’ll stay close to Celia and her crazy New Jersey family, which might expand in more ways than one.

I hope you’ll join me on this three-part adventure. Come for the laughs and stay for the warmth one feels among family, no matter how insane.
